Baked Halibut with Crispy Panko


  • 4 halibut fillets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil cooking spray
  • Lemon wedges, for serving


  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
  3. In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. In another shallow bowl, beat the eggs.
  5. In a third shallow bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs.
  6. Pat the halibut fillets dry with paper towels.
  7. Dredge each fillet in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  8. Dip each fillet in the beaten eggs, then coat in the panko breadcrumbs.
  9. Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet and spray lightly with olive oil cooking spray.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the halibut is cooked through and the panko is golden brown and crispy.
  11. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
