  • 4 split chicken breasts, bone-in and skin-on
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme


  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Rinse the chicken breasts under cold running water and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken and rub it in, making sure to coat both sides of each breast.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried thyme. Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the chicken, making sure to coat both sides.
  5. Place the chicken breasts on a baking sheet, skin-side up, and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
