Cells are the basic organ of life for all organisms. Cytoplasm and cytoplasm are the two divisions of cells. The intracellular fluid inside the cytoplasm is the cytoplasm. Cytosol is often confused with cytoplasm but it must be understood that the two are separate structures.
What is Cytosol?
The cytoplasm is the part of the cell surrounded by the cell membrane. All cellular components are present in the cytoplasm. It helps in major cellular functions such as glycolysis or nuclear division.
The aggregate inside the membrane is called the endoplasm, whereas, the outer part of the cytoplasm is called the outer plasma.
What is Cytoplasm?
The cytosol is known as the matrix of the cytoplasm. This is about cellular components in eukaryotes. All metabolic changes in prokaryotes occur here.
Thus, we can speculate that the cytoplasm is the content of the total cell membrane such as the water in the cytoplasm.
