A hernia is a condition in which a tissue or organ tears through a weak point in a muscle. Most hernias are not life-threatening, but require medical intervention to resolve.
Hernias are most often located in the abdominal area, but can also occur in the uterus, or near the thighs and pelvis.

The most common type of inguinal hernia is found mostly in men. Femoral hernias are common in women. Gastrointestinal dysplasia occurs in the midline of the gastrointestinal tract.
Hernias that form at the site of the surgical scar are called incisional hernias. A uterus is most often found in babies and is associated with pregnancy.
Hernias are most often caused by pressure on certain organs or intestines. When this pressure is applied to an area with weak tissues and muscles, a herniation occurs.
What is a Hernia?
A hernia occurs when a body part pulls a muscle or tissue that holds it in place. For example, a weak point in the abdominal wall can cause intestinal perforation.
Many abdominal cysts occur between your chest and thighs, but they can also be found in the upper thighs and thighs.
Most hernias do not immediately kill a healthy lifestyle, but they do not go away on their own. Sometimes they may need surgery to treat dangerous problems.
Types of Hernia
there are three types of hernia:
- Hiatal Hernia
- Umbilical hernia
- Ventral hernia
Inguinal hernias are the most common type of hernias. They occur when the bowel presses against a weak spot or crack in the wall of the lower abdomen, usually in the abdominal canal.
The inguinal canal can be seen in your groin. In men, sperm travel from the stomach to the scrotum. This string is attached to the seed. The inguinal canal has a tendon (called a ball ligament) that helps hold the uterus in place.
Inguinal hernias are more common in men because they descend through the testicular orifice shortly after birth. The channel behind them can almost be completely closed. Sometimes the channel doesn’t close properly, leaving a weak point.
