  • The battery of the car you want to help is in good condition and has an adequate charge.
  • Get a car with a battery: Look for a car with a fully charged battery that you can use to power it.
  • Place the cars: Make sure the two cars are close enough to connect the wires, but not so close that they overlap.
  • Turn off both motors: Make sure both the battery-cooled motor and the battery-powered motor are turned off.
  • Open the hoods of both vehicles: Raise the hoods of both vehicles and make sure they are securely fastened.
  • Identify the batteries: Find the poles of both (+) and negative (-) batteries. It is important that both battery poles are connected to each other and are the same negative pole.
  • Connect the wire: Connect the red wire to the positive (+) pole of the charging battery and then to the positive (+) pole of the discharged battery. Next, connect the black wire to the negative (-) pole of the charging battery and to the metal chassis of the evacuated vehicle, avoiding the battery.
  • Starting the car with a charged battery: Start the car with a charged battery and let the other car’s battery charge for a few minutes.
  • Try to start the car with a dead battery: After a few minutes, try to start the car with a dead battery. If it doesn’t stick, wait a little longer.
  • Disconnect the cables: Disconnect the cables in the reverse order you connected them. Remove the black wire first from the metal chassis of the evacuated vehicle and then from the battery that has been charged. Next, remove the red wire from the discharged battery and finally the charging battery.

What is Wireless Charging?

“We wanted to see if Emroad’s technology could complement the way we deliver electricity,” said Nicholas Vessiot, Powerco’s network transformation manager. “We’re thinking of using it to provide power in remote areas, or in difficult areas.

It also has the potential to be used to keep the lights on for our customers while maintaining our existing infrastructure.”

Emrod currently has a working prototype of its plant, but will build another PowerCo, with delivery scheduled for October, then spend several months testing in the lab before conducting field trials.

“We can use the exact same technology to transmit 100 times more energy over very long distances,” said Emrod founder and serial entrepreneur Greg Kushnir. “Using Emrod technology, wireless systems can transmit power entirely in a moving wire system.”

The system uses a transmitting antenna, a series of relays, and a receiving rectifier (a rectifying antenna that can convert microwave energy into electricity)

Each of these components just looks like big squares on the poles in these pictures. Its beacons use the non-ionizing, industrial, scientific and medical radio band, including frequencies commonly used in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
