Blood pressure is also known as hypertension. It is a serious, chronic health problem associated with the pressure or force exerted by the blood on the arterial walls. It is very common in today’s life and affects about 10 million people worldwide.

Hypertension Symptoms

The main risk factors for hypertension are lifestyle factors such as obesity and family history. It is a risk factor for cardiovascular problems.

Controlled blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke, heart attack, heart failure, etc. It can be managed in many ways, including physical exercise, stress reduction, and medication.

There are two main types of Hypertension:

  1. Primary Hypertension
  2. Secondary Hypertension.

Hypertension Causes

Hypertension can be caused due to:

  • Diabetes
  • Kidney problems
  • Cushing syndrome
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Pregnancy
  • Obesity
  • Adrenal hyperplasia

Symptoms of Hypertension

The common symptoms of hypertension include:

  • Dizziness.
  • Chest Pain.
  • Heart attack.
  • Headaches.
  • Bleeding Nose.
  • Visual Changes.
  • Shortness of Breath.
  • Flushing or Blushing.
  • Narrowing of blood vessels.
  • Formation of plagues in the blood vessels.

These were normal mild symptoms of high blood pressure. Few treatments and medications are available to treat, control and reduce hypertension.

The combination of a healthy diet, regular physical activity and a healthy weight rarely translates into a healthy lifestyle that can help individuals control the factors that contribute to high blood pressure.
