What is Positive acceleration?

Acceleration is said to be positive if the velocity of the body is increasing with the increasing of time. In positive acceleration velocity of the body is changing in positive Direction.
Examples of Positive Acceleration
- A bus moving with increasing speed has positive acceleration.
- A train that is moving away from the station.
What is Negative acceleration?

Acceleration is said to be negative if the velocity of the body is decreasing with the increasing of time. In negative acceleration velocity of the body is changing in negative Direction.
Examples of Negative Acceleration
- A bus moving with decreasing speed has negative acceleration.
- A train that is moving towards the station.

Definition |
|
Acceleration is regarded as positive if the velocity is increasing continuously | Acceleration s regarded as negative if the velocity is decreasing. |
Direction |
|
Its direction is in the direction of motion. | Its direction Is opposite to the direction of motion. |
