Simplicity

Simplicity has several meanings. It comes from the Latin singultus, which means one by one, to which is added the suffix -EZ which means quality.  This defines simplicity as a quality that defines the lack of ostentation or difficulty of people or objects.

A simple object has no elaboration or artifice, it is also related to that which does not present difficulty.

In the case of people, simplicity is related to people who are natural, spontaneous, who prefer informality and reject protocols and ostentation. It is a value appreciated in people.

Humility

The term humility comes from Latin humility and is accepted as a virtue related to the knowledge of one’s own weaknesses and limitations. It usually applies to the person who downplays his achievements and easily acknowledges his mistakes.

Humility is considered the basis and foundation of other virtues.

The term humble is also used to refer to people who have a low socioeconomic position.

  • Humility is a value of those people who have the ability to accept their mistakes and minimize their successes. It is contrary to the vanity and is related to honesty.
  • Simplicity is a quality that allows us to live our life being honest with ourselves, being transparent, and allowing us to interact without protocols or ostentation.
  • Humility and simplicity, together, result in modesty. In this way, both concepts are related, giving rise to the respect with which we treat others.
