As for the second type It is vitamin K, which has several subtypes that are named according to the length of the side chain. This type is known as menaquinone. This type can be obtained from fermented foods and animal foods.

It is also worth mentioning that the beneficial bacteria present in the intestines can manufacture vitamin K, but the consumption of antibiotics leads to the destruction of these bacteria, causing a decrease in vitamin K levels.

Reducing the risk of newborns developing hemorrhagic disease: (in English: Hemorrhagic disease), which is also called vitamin K deficiency bleeding, which is bleeding that occurs in children during the first few days of their lives, as children are born with low levels Of vitamin K naturally, this vitamin is an essential factor in their blood clotting, but in the event of a deficiency in its levels, this constitutes the main cause of hemorrhagic disease in newborns.

If the child is suspected of being infected with this disease, the doctor gives the newborn a dose of vitamin K1. The infection is confirmed if the bleeding stops, but if the child is diagnosed with hemorrhagic disease, the doctor determines a treatment plan that may include a blood transfusion if the bleeding is severe.

Reducing the risk of bleeding in people with prothrombin deficiency: a disorder caused by a deficiency of the protein prothrombin in the blood (in English: Prothrombin).

Some vitamin K products are used to treat bleeding complications, or excessive blood thinning resulting from the use of warfarin.

Vitamin K1 may reduce the effect of this drug, and it is worth noting. It is necessary not to consume these medicines together except under close medical supervision.
