Zinc is considered one of the essential minerals for the health of the body, as it plays an important role in the functions of a large number of body enzymes necessary for various vital functions.

Cruciferous vegetables; Such as: Brussels sprouts, broccoli , cauliflower , curly cabbage, Indian mustard greens, and watercress.

Benefits of Zinc

The daily need for zinc is equivalent to 8 milligrams for a woman, and 11 milligrams for a man, and it is important to meet this need to obtain the health benefits of zinc, and the most important of these benefits are as follows:

Strengthening the immune system: The body needs zinc to activate T cells (T lymphocytes). Which in turn helps regulate the immune response and fight cancer cells and infected cells.

Therefore, a deficiency of this element may weaken the functions of the body’s immune system, making the person more susceptible to the disease.

Contributing to improving memory: One research indicated that zinc is an important element in regulating the way nerve cells communicate with each other, which affects memory and the ability to learn.

Treating the common cold: One study found that zinc tablets reduce the duration of a cold by up to 40%, and taking these tablets or zinc syrup also helps reduce the severity of the disease in healthy people, if taken within 24 hours of the start of symptoms.

Treating diarrhea: Taking zinc pills can help reduce diarrhea, and one study found that increasing zinc consumption in children with diarrhea by giving them zinc pills for ten days effectively helped treat them and reduced the risk of developing it in the future.
