Habitat: birds live on land, some, birds are also aquatic and can live into water.
Feathers: their body is covered externally with feathers.
Wings: their fore limbs are modified to form wings.
Toothless mouth: their mouth is toothless.
Beak: their jaws are prolonged into beak.
Hollow bones: their bones are hollow and light.
Sound box: there is a sound box, larynx present at the base of their neck which produces the melodious voices in many birds.
Large eggs: eggs are laid on land which are covered by a hard shell and contain great amount of reserved food in the form of yolk.
Respiration: they respire by lungs.
War-blooded: they are termed as warm blooded animals because they maintain a constant body temperature.
Kinds: birds are classification onto two kinds running birds and flying birds.
