# Difference between Concave and Convex

The basic difference between concave and convex is that Concave refers to that curve or surface that resembles the inner part of a surface, that is, it presents a sunken part directed towards the observer. Convex is that curve or surface that presents a curve directed towards the observer.

## Concave

In geometry, concave refers to that curve or surface that resembles the inner part of the circumference or a sphere, this means that it presents a sunken part directed to the observer. This term is used in mathematics and physics to refer to a type of angle that is generated before a curve, that is, where the internal cavity is generated.
